Professional Running Analysis In The News

It is a beautiful Saturday morning here in San Jose California.  I got up early to go for a run and do some research on running for Competitive EDGE and I came across a great news article.  For many, a professional running analysis draws blank stares and puzzled looks.  The analysis of movement is relatively new to the commercial market.  It has been available through venues like ESPN and video games; however, it was unreachable in everyday life due to cost and technical implementation.  Now there is a boom in health data tracking and motion capture is top of the list for athletes, trainers, and physical therapists.

The Wall Street Journal in September of 2014 put out a great article on professional running analysis that is worth reading.  It gives a great explanation of what a running analysis is plus it describes why it is necessary to serious runners or those who have sustained injury.

I hope you enjoy the article.  I have been working on another more detailed blog on “runner’s knee” or patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) that should be out in the next week.  It will be packed with education and tips to get ride of the pain.  Until then enjoy the great day!
